St. Brice’s Church is pleased that the Al Hariri family arrived in North Bay on September 8, 2017. This our sponsored Syrian refugee family -- Nour Jabr, her husband Katada Al Hariri, and two young children. (Nour is expecting another baby early in 2018.) Our official sponsorship period is coming to a close, but friendships will continue. Members of St. Brice's Refugee Resettlement Committee are very pleased with how the Al Hariris are integrating into life in North Bay: Kotada has finished his English as a Second Language studies, is working full-time, has recently finished a course offered by his employer, and has more responsibilities. Nour is continuing to learn English. The family has a car. Kotada has his full license and Nour is learning to drive. They hope to buy a home after saving further. Please continue to pray for them.
For their many hours of work we wish to give our thanks and appreciation to the members of our Refugee Resettlement Committee. In support of our new sponsored family, we are deeply grateful to God and to all the donors who have generously contributed funds and furnishings and household items and for the tireless care, time and hospitality of many.

Sponsorship is simply about helping others who cannot help themselves. Sponsorship is God’s heart call. He reached out, with His magnificent giving love, to help us when we could not help ourselves. Our heavenly Father so loved us that He gave His Son, Christ Jesus, as a full sacrifice for us so we can come into relationship with Him. As well as the eternal implications, sponsorship is also about helping people out of their horrific conditions and additionally assisting any other person out of their helplessness.
Jesus said: “…as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up:
That whosoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life. For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through Him might be saved” (John 3:14-17)
