Sponsorship is simply about helping others who cannot help themselves. Sponsorship is God’s heart call. He reached out, with His magnificent giving love, to help us when we could not help ourselves. Our heavenly Father so loved us that He gave His Son, Christ Jesus, as a full sacrifice for us so we can come into relationship with Him. As well as the eternal implications, sponsorship is also about helping people out of their horrific conditions and additionally assisting any other person out of their helplessness.
After the processing with the Government of Canada,
there will be further checks where the family currently resides.
God willing, we anticipate that the family will come to North Bay around Christmas 2016.
In this worthwhile work the members of our Refugee Resettlement Committee ask for your continued prayer for God’s wisdom in the details of this process.
We are deeply grateful to God and to all the donors who have generously contributed funds and furnishings and household items for this new family.
(Note: Photographs are those of families that may already come
to Canada and not specific to our selected family)
In November 2015, St. Brice’s leadership discerned we were being
called to sponsor a refugee family. We have raised over $28,000
– well over the required amount – have gathered all that is
needed to furnish a household, and made other plans to
welcome the family at their arrival to Canada. The family
we are sponsoring has submitted all the necessary
paperwork, and we have sponsored all the paperwork
we are required to submit, to the Government of Canada.
Jesus said: “…as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up:
That whosoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life. For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through Him might be saved” (John 3:14-17)
