Dear Friends,

And all things should be done decently and in order.” (I Corinthians 14: 40)

Thank you to all those who were able to participate in the special Vestry meeting earlier this afternoon. Here are several follow-up points:

Income Tax Receipts

2020 Income Tax receipts will be available to pick up when the St. Brice’s Food Bank is open, this coming Thursday from 9:00-10:30am. If this is not a time which will work for you, please contact the parish office and we will make other arrangements.

Parish Hall Re-roofing Project

The following motion was passed today:

BE IT RESOLVED

  • That the Property Committee be charged with re-roofing the parish hall roof with shingles this summer,
  • And that an Application to the Anglican Foundation be undertaken with our full support;
  • And that any excess income from the congregation be directed to be used equally between other property projects and the mission work of the congregation.

We expect the cost of the roofing job will be about $15 000, and we are applying to the Anglican Foundation for a grant to pay for half the expenses. There is almost $3000 in the Building Fund. This means we need to raise elsewhere $4500 (or $12 000 if we do not get the planned-for grant). We need to submit the Anglican Foundation grant application by the end of next week (the sooner, the better).

If you are in receipt of an income, and if you are in a position to be able to help, would you consider making a donation or a pledge to pay for the new parish hall roof in 2021? We hope that people will make an offering (or make a pledge for a future offering), before we submit the grant application.

If you want to make a pledge of a future donation, please contact the treasurer (Don Bonenfant), the envelope secretary (Fay Ivany) or myself, in writing, some time within the next ten days.

On-line Regular Vestry Meeting

The second St. Brice’s Vestry meeting for 2021 will take place two weeks’ from now, on Saturday, 20 February 2021, starting at 1pm. The ban on large gatherings may be relaxed by this time. If so, this meeting will be a hybrid of an in-person and on-line gathering. Parishioners are still encouraged to meet on-line. People who are unable to meet on-line can gather in the parish hall, still observing the social distancing directions, and wearing masks. This meeting will include adoption of reports, and other regular business.

(If the current lockdown is extended through 20 February, this meeting will be on-line only.)
